Creative Industries, Labour Studies, Gender & Sexuality, Political Economy, Social Justice

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of English at Dalhousie University, working on the 2SLGBTQ+ Poverty in Canada project. I hold a PhD in Information Studies from the University of Toronto, and was previously a Jackman Humanities Graduate Fellow. I have also been a researcher for the Canadian Live Music Association and continue to contribute my research to Cultural Workers Organize.

My research and teaching is at the intersections of precarity, sexuality, and gender, with a specific emphasis on work and worker-led organizing in the arts and culture industries. I’ve had the opportunity to interview and write about comedians, actors, journalists, and live music workers.

My current project looks at the relations between unionization in the digital creative industries and social justice movements.

My research has been funded by the Jackman Humanities Institute, Ontario Graduate Scholarship, and Social Science and Humanities Research Council. You can find my work in Feminist Media StudiesThe International Journal of Cultural Policy, and Communication and the Public.
